The real problem

A gutter failure is never just a gutter problem

By the time a homeowner calls us, the gutter has usually been failing quietly for two or three seasons. One split seam or one backed-out hanger sends an entire roof plane’s runoff down a single point of the wall.

That water tracks behind the siding, soaks the fascia board until it can no longer hold a fastener, and collects against the foundation where it is most expensive to deal with. The gutter repair is the cheap part. What it prevents is not.

  • Foundation damage — Runoff dumped at the wall saturates and moves the soil that supports the house.
  • Fascia and soffit rot — Continuous damp softens the timber the whole system fastens to.
  • Interior water damage — Ice dams and overflow force water back under shingles and into ceilings.
  • Pests and mold — Standing debris is a permanently damp habitat against your roofline.

A clear scope and a firm price before anything starts. No obligation to proceed.

Results

Before and after

Drag the handle to compare a blocked, overflowing gutter with the same run after clearing, re-pitching and a flow test.

Before

Packed with leaf litter and standing water. Overflowing at the front edge in any real rain.

After

Cleared by hand, re-pitched to fall, downspouts flushed and flow tested.

Placeholder imagery

These panels are CSS placeholders. Real before/after photography drops in through data/gallery.json — see the README for the image pipeline and the npm run images fetch script.

Use your own crews’ work

Real job photos outperform stock for a contractor site, and they carry the EEAT signals stock imagery cannot. Shoot the same angle before and after on every job.

Answers

Frequently asked questions

How much does gutter repair cost?
Most single-point repairs run $150 to $450. Re-hanging and re-sealing a full run typically runs $300 to $900, and full seamless replacement runs $8 to $16 per linear foot in aluminum. Height, access, roof pitch and any fascia damage move the figure, which is why we give a written estimate after looking at the job rather than a number over the phone.
How often should gutters be cleaned?
Twice a year suits most homes — after autumn leaf fall and again in spring. Properties under heavy tree cover, and anywhere with pine needles, commonly need three or four visits, because needles pack far more densely than leaves and block downspout outlets first.
Is it repair or replacement that I need?
Repair is usually the better value where the trough itself is sound and the fault is pitch, hangers, seams or a damaged section. Replacement makes sense when the metal is widely corroded, when a sectional system leaks at most of its joints, or when the gutter is simply undersized for the roof it drains. A contractor who recommends replacement by default is worth a second opinion.
Are the contractors licensed and insured?
Contractors in our network are licensed and insured in the states they serve. License numbers are available on request when you call.
How quickly can someone come out?
Call and you will get an honest answer for your area. Storm damage and active water entry are triaged ahead of routine work, and scheduling tightens everywhere after a regional storm.
Does it cost anything to call?
No. The call is free, the referral is free, and the estimate is free with no obligation. GutterFixing.com is a free referral service. We connect homeowners with licensed, independent gutter contractors in their area. We are not a contractor and do not perform the work ourselves.
