The problem

Most replacement gutters get installed at the same size and downspout count as the failed ones, which is how a house ends up overflowing through three consecutive systems. Capacity is a calculation: roof area, pitch and your region’s peak rainfall intensity decide how many square inches of trough and how many downspouts the house actually needs. Get that wrong and the best installation in the world still spills.

Our process

How gutter installation works

  1. 1

    Measure and calculate

We measure each roof plane and size the trough and downspout count against local peak rainfall intensity, rather than copying the old system.

  2. 2

    Specify materials

We walk you through gauge, material and profile with the trade-offs stated plainly, including what we would fit on our own house.

  3. 3

    Remove and inspect

The old system comes off and the fascia and drip edge behind it get inspected — hidden rot is found now, not after the new gutter is hung.

  4. 4

    Install to spec

Hung to correct fall, hangers at proper spacing, seams sealed, downspouts routed to carry water well away from the foundation.

  5. 5

    Test and hand over

Full flow test, site cleanup, and your warranty documentation.

Why us

What to expect from your contractor

Sized properly

Capacity is calculated for your roof and your climate. This single step prevents most repeat overflow problems.

Fascia checked first

A new gutter hung on soft fascia is a warranty claim waiting to happen. It should be checked and quoted before anything is installed.

Material and workmanship warranty

Manufacturer material warranty plus the installer’s own workmanship warranty, both in writing.

Answers

Gutter Installation — common questions

How long does a full gutter replacement take?
Most single-family homes are completed in one day. Larger homes, multi-storey work, or jobs that include fascia replacement typically run two days.
What size gutter do I need?
Five-inch K-style handles most average roofs. Six-inch is the right call for large roof planes, steep pitches, homes under heavy tree cover, and regions with intense rainfall — it carries roughly 40 percent more water and clogs far less readily.
Can new gutters be installed in winter?
Yes in most climates, though sealants and some materials have minimum application temperatures. In hard-freeze regions we may recommend scheduling around a cold snap so seams cure properly.
Do you replace the fascia board as well?
We inspect it as part of every installation and quote the repair if it is needed. We will not hang a new system on fascia that cannot hold it.
