The problem
Fascia is the board your entire gutter system fastens to, and it is the first casualty of a gutter that has been leaking or overflowing. Once water has been running down it for a season or two, the timber softens, fasteners lose their grip, and the gutter starts to pull away — which lets more water onto the board, which accelerates the rot. Soffit damage above it usually means water has already reached the roof structure, and blocked soffit vents cause attic moisture problems in their own right.
Our process
How fascia & soffit repair works
-
1
Probe for the full extent
Rot spreads further than it looks. We probe beyond the visible damage so the repair covers all of it.
-
2
Remove gutters and damaged board
Gutters come down carefully for reuse where they are sound.
-
3
Replace and finish
New board installed, primed and finished, with drip edge corrected where needed.
-
4
Preserve ventilation
Soffit vents kept clear and functioning — blocking them trades one moisture problem for another.
-
5
Re-hang the gutters
Re-hung to correct pitch on sound timber, then flow tested.
